MCABBER
Introdution
mcabber is a small Jabber console client.
mcabber includes features such as SSL support, MUC
(Multi-User Chat) support, history logging, command completion,
OpenPGP encryption, OTR (Off-the-Record Messaging) support and
external action triggers.
Please read the manual page (manpage link below) for more information.
mcabber is released under the GNU GPL, and has been tested on
GNU/Linux, BSD, Mac OS X and Cygwin.

- 2008/10/09: mcabber 0.9.9 released.
A few bugfixes, help translation updates and new
Czech translation.
- 2008/10/05: mcabber 0.9.8 released.
URLs can be extracted from messages to the log window
with the new url_regex option, OTR messages are now displayed with
"O" flag, a few new commands and options are available, as well as
several UI improvements.
- 2008/04/17: mcabber 0.9.7 released.
FIFO support, new external event ("unread"), a few new
options, and a lots of small fixes and improvements.
- 2008/01/13: mcabber 0.9.6 released.
(Bugfix release) Better Cygwin support, better OpenBSD

- 2007/11/19: mcabber 0.9.5 released.
Internal hooks, improved command /source,
removed UI restriction on the message size, misc. improvements and
bugfixes.
- 2007/10/27: mcabber 0.9.4 released.
GnuTLS support, OTR (Off-The-Record) support, improved
user interface with MUC nickname coloring and selectable time prefixes,
misc. improvements and bugfixes.
- 2007/06/19: mcabber 0.9.3 released.

Aspell support, improved MUC nickname completion and line
highlighting, loading of configuration files from within mcabber, as well
as other enhancements and bug fixes.

New versions are announced on the
freshmeat
website, and you can subscribe to new releases on the freshmeat page to be
notified when a new mcabber version is out.
